    CARGO HANDLING

Loading and Securing Cargo on the Flatbed

The platform is open along both sides, allowing access by forklift or crane. A fixed end wall closes one end of the trailer, while tie-down points along the deck edge provide positions for chains or straps.

    Open Side Access

Loading equipment can approach the deck from either side, and a crane can place cargo from above. This leaves room to position long or irregular loads before they are restrained.

    Fixed End Wall

The welded wall forms a physical boundary at one end of the platform. Cargo still needs the correct chains, straps and blocking for the journey.

Steel side guard below the deck of the four-axle flatbed trailer

    Tie-Down Points and Side Guard

Tie-down points are welded along the deck edge. Below the rail, a steel side guard carries reflective markings and protects the open area between the landing legs and axle group.

For an accurate quote: send the cargo dimensions, total transport weight and loading method. These details are used to select the tie-down layout and rated hardware.

    BUYER QUESTIONS

    Questions About This Four-Axle Flatbed

The answers below refer to the red Angola-bound trailer shown on this page. Dimensions and load ratings still need to follow the cargo, tractor and operating route.

What cargo is this four-axle flatbed designed for?

The open platform suits cargo that can be loaded from the side or above and secured to the deck, including steel sections, timber, crates and equipment. The deck size and restraint method must match the actual load.

Does this Angola-bound trailer use air suspension?

No. This completed trailer uses multi-leaf spring suspension. The spring packs, U-bolts and axle hardware are visible in the close-up photos and factory video.

How much weight can a four-axle flatbed carry?

Four axles alone do not determine the rated payload. Axle ratings, frame and deck design, tyres, tractor setup and route limits all matter. The quotation should state the payload and individual axle ratings for the selected build.

Can the deck length or width be changed?

Deck dimensions can be prepared around the cargo and route. Send the longest and widest cargo dimensions, total loaded weight and loading method; the agreed dimensions should then appear in the signed specification and drawing.

Can this trailer carry 20ft or 40ft containers?

The photographed unit does not show a confirmed container twist-lock layout. If container transport is required, list the container sizes and loading positions so the lock locations and axle load distribution can be set before production.

Does the fixed end wall hold the cargo in place?

The wall provides a physical stop at one end of the deck, but it does not replace chains, straps, blocking or dunnage. The restraint equipment and its working load limits must suit the cargo and local operating rules.

What needs to match the tractor?

Check the kingpin size and position, fifth-wheel height, air and electrical connections, and the permitted dimensions and weights of the complete combination. Include the tractor model with the enquiry so these interfaces can be reviewed together.
