FIXED GOOSENECK · MECHANICAL RAMPS

100 Ton 4 Axle Lowbed Trailer

This 100 ton four-axle lowbed trailer uses a fixed gooseneck and two spring-assisted rear ramps. The lowered main deck provides a rear-loading platform for construction and mining machines. This unit is shown in a custom army-green finish.

BEFORE ORDERING Send the machine dimensions before we set the deck and ramps.

Provide the transport weight, overall dimensions, track or tire width, ground clearance and destination route.

FIXED-GOOSENECK LOADING

How Does the Rear-Loading System Work?

The fixed gooseneck stays connected to the tractor. Equipment enters from the rear over two steel ramps. Coil springs help raise and lower the ramps by hand.

01
Rear Entry Measure the lowest point under the machine and compare it with the ramp transition.
02
Two Ramp Paths One ramp supports each track or wheel path during loading.
03
Spring Assistance Check whether the machine can cross the ramp-to-deck transition without grounding.
04
Travel Position Allow firm, level ground and enough straight approach space behind the trailer.

FIXED-GOOSENECK LAYOUT

Why Use a Fixed-Gooseneck Lowbed Trailer?

A fixed gooseneck stays attached to the tractor, so equipment loads from the rear. This layout combines a low main deck, four axles and two spring-assisted ramps in a simple rear-loading trailer.

REAR LOADING

Equipment Loads From the Rear

The tractor remains connected while the machine travels over the two ramps and onto the main deck.

02
LOW MAIN DECK

Helps Keep the Machine Lower

The dropped deck reduces the trailer height beneath the machine. Final loaded height depends on the machine itself.

03
FOUR-AXLE GROUP

Four Axles Beneath the Rear Deck

The four-axle group supports the rear of the trailer. Final axle ratings and load distribution are matched to the machine and route.

04
RAMP OPERATION

Coil Springs Assist the Ramps

The springs reduce the effort needed to move the ramps by hand. The two ramps are raised and secured for transport.

MACHINE FIT

Match the Machine to the Drawing

Start with the machine size and working weight. Then check the trailer width, loading height, rear ramp position and deck space.

01

Overall Size

The machine length, width and height must fit the available trailer space.

02

Ramp Alignment

The tracks or tyres must line up with the two rear ramps.

03

Ground Clearance

The lowest part of the machine must clear the ramps and rear transition.

04

Loaded Position

The machine must have a suitable position on the main platform.

01 What is the rated load of this four-axle lowbed?

The photographs do not prove a rated tonnage. The final value must come from the approved design, deck load map, kingpin and axle reactions, running-gear ratings and intended operating conditions. Once confirmed, that exact value can be used for this configuration.

02 Does the fixed gooseneck detach for loading?

No. The gooseneck remains connected to the main frame. Equipment loads from the rear over the approved ramps, or it may be placed by suitable lifting equipment when that method is included in the loading plan.

03 What do the exposed springs on the rear ramps do?

They assist the movement of the mechanical ramps. They do not eliminate ramp weight or replace the approved operating procedure, ramp locks, ground-condition checks and inspection requirements.

04 Can an excavator or bulldozer climb these ramps?

That depends on the machine mass, track or tire width, ground clearance, approach limit, available traction and breakover geometry. Send the machine data sheet and side profile so the ramps and rear transition can be checked before production.

05 Why use four axles instead of three?

Four axles provide another axle position for the engineered load distribution. They also add tires, brakes, suspension components, tare weight and turning considerations. The correct choice depends on the machine, tractor, route and applicable axle limits rather than axle count alone.

06 How should the machine be positioned on the deck?

Use the machine center of gravity and contact footprint to calculate the load transferred to the kingpin and four-axle group. Also check side-to-side balance, restraint access, fixed-neck clearance and rear overhang before the position is approved.

07 Which information is required for an accurate quotation?

Provide the machine model, transport mass, overall dimensions, track or tire geometry, ground clearance, center of gravity, loading-site condition, tractor details, destination and route. Also state the required deck and ramp dimensions, restraint requirements and applicable project documents.
