EXTENDABLE GOOSENECK · FOUR AXLES

4 Axle Lowbed Semi Trailer with Extendable Gooseneck

This model keeps the fixed main deck, four-axle rear group and rear loading ramps of a standard four-axle lowbed. The difference is at the front: the gooseneck can be extended, and the required extension length is made to the customer's order.

ONE CLEAR DIFFERENCE Only the gooseneck length is adjustable.

The loading platform does not extend. Confirm the required neck length and tractor details before the trailer is built.

CUSTOM GOOSENECK LENGTH

Can the Gooseneck Extension Length Be Customized?

Yes. The extension length can be built to the customer's required dimensions. Unless the order states otherwise, the main deck, four-axle layout and rear loading arrangement stay the same as the standard lowbed configuration.

PRODUCTION PROCESS

How the Extendable Gooseneck Lowbed Is Built

The four-axle lowbed follows the same main production sequence as the standard model. The extra work is at the front, where the extendable gooseneck is assembled to the length required for the order.

Use one original factory photo showing this trailer during frame assembly, extendable gooseneck fitting or final assembly.
01

Confirm the Build

Set the trailer dimensions, four-axle layout, rear-ramp form and required gooseneck extension length.

02

Prepare the Frame Parts

Cut and prepare the sections for the fixed main deck, rear frame and extendable gooseneck.

03

Assemble the Main Frame

Position and weld the main frame, then check the deck alignment before the running gear is installed.

04

Fit the Extendable Gooseneck

Assemble the sliding section and connection area to match the gooseneck length specified for the order.

05

Install the Axles and Rear Ramps

Fit the four-axle group, rear loading ramps and the connection lines that pass through the gooseneck joint.

06

Finish and Check the Trailer

Complete the surface finish and final assembly, then check the gooseneck movement and trailer connections.

Main deck stays fixed. The customized part of this model is the extendable gooseneck and its required extension length.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

4-Axle Extendable Lowbed — Common Buyer Questions

Review the main questions about extension length, cargo support, rear loading, gooseneck configuration and working-length ratings before sending your cargo information for technical review.

Is longitudinal extension the same as a widening deck?
No. Longitudinal extension increases the available trailer length, while side extensions increase width. If the cargo needs both extra length and extra width, the two requirements should be identified separately in the cargo drawing and quotation request.
Does the gooseneck detach because the trailer is extendable?
No. Platform extension and gooseneck removal are separate trailer functions. The neck type should be confirmed independently. This extendable configuration should not automatically be treated as a detachable-gooseneck or front-loading trailer.
How should I choose the working length for a long load?
Start with the cargo's approved support locations and transport dimensions. The selected trailer position should accommodate the actual wheels, tracks, skids or mounting feet and must have a suitable load rating for that working length. Maximum extension is not automatically the correct position for every cargo.
Does the maximum extension have the same load rating as the closed deck?
Do not assume that it does. Request a load schedule for the actual working length and cargo arrangement. The approved rating should consider the cargo support pattern together with kingpin and axle-group reactions at that trailer position.
Is the extension opening suitable for wheels or tracks?
Not automatically. The loading path and cargo contact points must remain on approved support areas. If wheels, tracks or support feet need to cross the extension opening, confirm whether rated bridging or another engineered support arrangement is required.
Can the trailer be extended or retracted while loaded?
Do not assume that loaded length adjustment is permitted. Obtain the manufacturer's procedure for the exact trailer configuration and follow its load-state restrictions. The permitted trailer position during loading and transport should be defined before operation.
Can wheeled or tracked equipment load through the rear ramp?
The complete machine path must be reviewed from the ground to the final transport position. Check the ramp, rear transition, extension opening, machine width, wheel or track spacing and ground clearance. A rear ramp alone does not confirm that the machine can reach its intended position.
Does a four-axle extendable lowbed require steering axles?
That depends on the final layout and route review. Working length, axle positions, turning space, site access and route geometry all matter. Steering equipment is not confirmed simply because the trailer has four axles or an extendable platform.
What information is needed for an extension review?
Send the cargo dimensions, transport mass, required support span, wheel, track or support-foot positions, loading method and destination. A marked cargo drawing and center-of-gravity information are especially useful for reviewing the required working length.
What is needed for a price quotation?
Provide the cargo dimensions and mass, required support span, loading method, destination, quantity and contact information. When available, also include the tractor model, route restrictions, desired closed and extended lengths, target delivery date and preferred trade term.
