5 Axle Curtain Side Trailer for Ghana | CHENLU Shipment

CHENLU Prepares a Five-Axle Curtain Side Semi-Trailer for Ghana

CHENLU has completed a five-axle curtain side semi-trailer for shipment to Ghana. The trailer has a white curtain body, a black chassis, air suspension and rear double doors.

The body provides two loading entrances: side access for a forklift working from the yard, and rear doors for loading from the back. This arrangement suits packaged freight that needs cover during transport but is easier to handle from the side.

Side access for forklifts, rear doors for dock loading

A curtain side body allows a forklift to approach the required part of the loading area from outside the trailer. Pallets or crates can be placed closer to their final position, reducing the need to move them along the floor from a single rear entrance. The yard still needs enough room for the forklift to work alongside the vehicle.

The rear double doors provide a separate loading entrance. Their vertical locking bars secure the doors when closed. At a warehouse with rear loading facilities, freight can be handled through this opening without opening the side curtain.

The roof and closed curtains provide weather cover on the road. For freight that needs forklift access at different points along the body, this combines the access of a side-loading trailer with a covered cargo area.

Five-axle running gear with air suspension

This build uses five axles beneath the rear loading area. The loaded trailer is supported by the axle group and, through the kingpin, by the tractor’s fifth wheel. Cargo position therefore affects how much weight each part of the combination carries; axle count alone does not establish payload.

Air springs support the chassis above the axle assemblies. In a height-controlled air-suspension system, the control valve admits or releases air to maintain the set ride height as the load changes. This operating principle is described in Hendrickson’s height-control valve technical guide.

Curtain buckles and body fittings

Individual buckles run along the lower curtain edge to tension the fabric when the body is closed. Beneath the loading area, the trailer has a side-mounted toolbox and side guards with red-and-white reflective markings. Landing legs support the front of the trailer when it is uncoupled.
